Search on 2020 於上週 10/15 舉辦了線上研討會，主要分享 Google Search 在今年的一些重點改變，筆者這邊就整理了 Search On 2020 懶人包，一起來了解一下近期即將帶來的搜尋引擎變革。
Google Search 於 1998 年問世至今已經 20 幾個年頭，如今 2020 年，他的地位可能不在是單純的搜尋引擎而是資訊的平台，你可以搜尋文字、搜尋影音、語音搜尋，甚至是 AR 擴增實境。此外今年的 COVID-19 新冠疫情，Google Search 也提供了公正公開的真實數據，傳遞正確的訊息。而在 2020，搜尋引擎更瞄準了日益繁複的搜尋需求，想針對特定的 Data Set 做搜尋？想搜尋 3D 立體的家具？腦海中浮現出一段旋律想知道歌名？這些搜尋需求，在不久的將來都可以透過 Google 搜尋引擎做到。
理解 NLP 自然語言
在 2019 年 Google 發表了 BERT （Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers）演算法，透過搜尋引擎來分析句子的完整意涵，讓使用者獲得精確的解答。以下方 Google 提出的範例為例：
當用戶搜尋「如何知道我的窗戶是用 UV 玻璃」，在過去的搜尋引擎，Google 判斷用戶搜尋的主要 term 是「UV 玻璃」、「決策」，所以 SERP Top 1 是關於 UV 玻璃的相關實驗，而通過 BERT 演算法的判斷，他清楚知道用戶的搜尋意圖是想判斷家中窗戶是否有抗 UV，並且給出判斷的方式。 在 Google Search On 2020，Google 宣布將全面採用 BERT 搭配 Rank Brain 演算法來提供搜尋結果。（目前以英文為主）
拼字檢查
Google 表示，每天每十個用戶檢索搜尋，就有一個是拼錯字的，因為 Google Spelling algorithm 拼字演算法，可以校正用戶的錯字搜尋，給予正確的搜尋結果
針對段落排名
搜尋引擎再也不是僅尋找完整回答到你問題的頁面，往往你的問題僅出現在優質頁面中的某些段落。為了幫助使用者在茫茫網海中大海撈針，Google 將開始針對段落排名，目前這樣新的排名演算，將先實施 7% 左右的搜尋結果（一樣是英文語系優先），段落排名可以幫助優質的內容網頁（可能不是 100% 頁面都在講用戶搜尋的內容，但其中的一個段落清楚的回答到用戶問題）獲得更多爭取排名的機會
理解主題與次主題
AI 同時幫助 Google 理解主題及次主題，這代表 Google 搜尋引擎可以搜尋者的搜尋主要主題（意圖），以及衍生的次主題（意圖），以 Google 提供的範例來說，使用者搜尋廣義的詞「居家運動器材」，Google 除了提供居家運動器材結果，同時也會提供衍生的主題如「經濟實惠的運動器材」、「小型運動器材」，透過主、次主題的搜尋結果，提供搜尋者更多實用且他們可能還不知道的潛在需求。
理解影片內容
影片已逐漸成為網路上的主要內容，一直以來 Google 透過音譯（transcriptions）來理解影片內容，在 2020 年，Google 宣布他們正逐漸導入 AI 人工智慧來幫助搜尋引擎理解影片內容。依據 Google 的說法，他們已經可以判斷出影片的關鍵畫面節點，並且可以跳轉到該節點上。
更多搜尋的方式
搜尋再也不是仰賴「文字」而已，Google 在 Search on 2020 分享先前使用者透過 Google Lens app 拍照上傳來翻譯外國文字（OCR，Optical Character Recognition 光學文字辨識），現在則進化到可以唸給你聽。Google 也持續擴充他的知識光譜，讓你可以直接透過搜尋解決數學問題。Google Lens 也可以協助使用者購物，只要上傳產品圖片，Google 即可以提供建議，同時 AR 也將成為 Google 搜尋引擎的下個亮點，擴增實境可以協助用戶線上觀看 3D 產品，提供栩栩如生的產品展示。
Data set search
Google 即將開放巨量的資料庫搜尋，Data Commons Projects 是一個公開的知識資料庫並且匯聚了不同的權威性資料來源。Data set search 中，你可以找到珍貴的數據資料，甚至部分的資料還已經整理成資訊圖表。Google 透過他的自然語言處理技術（NLP) 來理解用戶的問題，並且提供公開資料庫的數據結果來回答用戶的問題。
未來的搜尋引擎輪廓
在這次的 Search On 2020，Google 好像換了一個全新、靈活的大腦，Google 逐漸擴大導入 AI 紀錄並且嘗試精準理解用戶在搜尋背後的強烈意圖。對於 SEOer 來說，對於上述的改變，我們唯一能做的依然是提供高品質的內容，持續的理解網站使用者的搜尋意圖，並且提供給使用者需要的解答。
